What is a magnetic LED channel?

A magnetic LED channel is an aluminum profile with magnets in the base, so it holds itself onto any steel surface without screws or adhesive. DENO bodies run from 9x9mm to 18x18mm. Because the whole assembly lifts off in one movement, shop fitters can re-merchandise a display and move the light line with it the same afternoon.

Will a magnetic LED strip profile hold on a supermarket gondola?

Yes — gondola uprights, steel shelf edges and metal display cases are exactly the surfaces these bodies are designed for. Larger sections hold more securely: the 18x18mm body carries the strongest magnet set and stays put on vertical faces, while 9x9mm and 14x8mm suit shelf undersides and glass cabinet frames with a steel channel behind.

How do I light a display case without drilling it?

Use a tool-free magnetic body with a low-profile 5mm or 8mm tape and route the cable through the case's existing service slot. Nothing is fixed permanently, so the fitting can be relocated between merchandising cycles and the case keeps its resale condition — the reason museums and jewellery retailers specify magnetic mounting over screwed channel.

Which strip widths fit the magnetic bodies?

The 9x9mm body takes 5mm FPCB, 14x8mm takes 8mm, and 15x15mm and 18x18mm take 10mm boards with room for a proper diffuser gap. Keep to the matched width — an over-wide tape lifts off the base, loses its thermal path and can push the cover out of the retaining lip.

Can a magnetic channel be used on a non-steel surface?

Only with a steel backing plate. On timber, aluminum or glass, screw a thin steel strip along the run first and the profile then behaves exactly as it would on shelving. This is the standard trick for wooden shop fittings that still need the repositionable magnetic LED track behaviour.
